Nuts/Seeds

Nuts and seeds can serve as an important secondary source of protein for Blood Type A. Laboratory research has identified at least five natural phytochemicals in nuts that regulate the immune system and act as antioxidants. SUPER BENEFICIAL for Blood Type A are raw flaxseeds and walnuts, which are high in omega-3 fatty acids.

Beans and Legumes

Blood Type A thrives on vegetable proteins found in many beans and legumes, although a few beans contain immunoreactive proteins and should be avoided. SUPER BENEFICIAL beans and legumes for Blood Type A include soy beans and their by-products. They are a good source of essential amino acids and contain isoflavones that can inhibit inflammation-inducing selectins from being overexpressed on the blood vessels. Soy also contains phospholipids, which help maintain brain cell membranes.
